The Arvada furnace repair price list, Q3 2026
These are the numbers you would get on the phone. They are compiled from published pricing at Denver-area HVAC contractors and national cost guides, checked quarterly, and stated as ranges because the same part costs more on a 120,000 BTU two-stage furnace than on a 60,000 BTU single-stage. The written price for your furnace comes before any work starts.

What moves the number inside the range
Furnace type
A single-stage 80 percent furnace uses a simple board, a PSC blower, and a standard ignitor. A 96 percent two-stage or modulating furnace uses a variable-speed ECM blower, a more complex board, and sometimes a proprietary ignitor. Same repair, two to three times the part cost. If you send a photo of the sticker through the photo quote, the range comes back narrowed to your model.
Age and brand
Parts for a 25-year-old furnace may be discontinued, which means an aftermarket substitute or a search for old stock. Carrier, Lennox, Trane, Goodman, Rheem, and Amana parts are stocked locally. Some smaller brands are not.
Time of the call
Where a contractor applies an after-hours premium to the diagnostic, it is stated on the phone before dispatch. Part and labor pricing is the same day or night. See 24-hour repair.
What else the tech finds
The most common add-on to a repair call is a filter, a second failing part caught in the same visit (an ignitor and a flame sensor often go together), or a safety issue like a rusted flue connector. Each one is quoted separately and you approve it in writing, or you decline it.
Repairs that are usually not worth it
There is a rule of thumb that holds up: if the repair costs more than a third of a new furnace and the furnace is over fifteen years old, replacement is the better spend. In Arvada that line sits around $1,200 to $1,500. Heat exchangers, and often blower motor or control board failures on a furnace from the 2000s, land on the wrong side of it. The repair-or-replace page has a cost table by furnace age.
What is included in the price
- The part, the labor to install it, and a test of the full heating cycle afterward.
- A parts-and-labor warranty of at least one year on the repair.
- The diagnostic fee credited when you go ahead with the repair.
- A written number, approved by you, before the work starts. No hourly meter.
- Work performed by a licensed, insured Colorado HVAC contractor with NATE or EPA 608 certified technicians. The license number is on the invoice.
The photo quote is the fastest way to get from a range to a number. A picture of the sticker and a sentence about what the furnace is doing, and a tech calls back with the range narrowed to your unit, usually within minutes.
